Is Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver Really Aboriginal, or Instead a Member of Convict 'Royalty'? - Part 7

Is Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver Really Aboriginal, or Instead a Member of Convict 'Royalty'? - Part 7

In the previous six parts of our investigation into the claims of Aboriginality by Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver, we reported that we were unable to find any evidence that any her ancestors were of Aboriginal descent, as she claims.

In those Parts 1 to 6, we covered all the branches of her paternal and her maternal family trees, except for one branch of her mother’s side, that of the Small family. In this post, we report on the results of our research into this last branch of the Professor’s family tree.

Eliza Small was Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver’s 3X great-grandmother (see yellow sections in Figure 1 below) and the Professor claims that her Aboriginaily arose in this maternal side of her family.

This Small family branch is thus the last opportunity for us to find any Aboriginality in the Professor’s family. In all her other family tree branches, both on her paternal and maternal sides, we could find no evidence that the Professor had any Aboriginal ancestors.

In this Part 7 post of the alleged family tree of Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver, we have followed the Small family branch back from Eliza Small to her ancestors, all of whom we have found had originated in England or Ireland.

We could find no records that indicated that any of Eliza Small’s ancestors (and thus the Professor’s as well in this branch of her family tree) were of Aboriginal descent.

Rather, all of Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver’s ancestors in the Small family-line were originally convicts - John Small and his wife Mary Parker, as well as George Padfield and his wife Mary Brien were all born and convicted in England or Ireland and shipped to Botany Bay as convicts. None of them were of Aboriginal descent (See Figure 2).

Based on this research, it appears that Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver is mistaken if she believes she has any Aboriginal descent from the Small family ancestors of her maternal grandmother, Clarice Mary Powell (Schmidt), as the Professor has previously claimed.

The research notes to support our findings on the Small Family are here downloadable Part 1 here and Part 2 here

This concludes our detailed work on the genealogy of the Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver.

We will summarise the Professors’s genealogy in our next and final post.

Further Reading

Our genealogical research into Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver’s maternal family indicated that there were no Aboriginal descendants in her maternal family branch of the Small family. Instead, the Professor is a direct descendant of Englishman John Small who arrived as a convict on the First Fleet.

The Professor should thus be eligle to join the THE JOHN & MARY SMALL DESCENDANTS ASSOCIATION, according to our analysis of the publicly available records.
