The $50,000 Winninninni Man - Robert Doyle of Western Sydney University - Part 4

The $50,000 Winninninni Man - Robert Doyle of Western Sydney University - Part 4

Several of our readers have recently asked why the detailed posts about Kerrie Doyle’s family tree have been removed from our Dark Emu Exposed website.

The reason is that two months ago, in July 2022, we received an email from Kerrie Doyle’s son, Robert Doyle, a Masters/PhD Student at Western Sydney University.

In his politely written email of 26 July 2022, Mr Doyle asked,

‘Hi there,

I'm contacting you in regards to this article that showed up on your blog when I googled Professor Doyle
https://www.dark-emu-exposed.org/home/proud-winninninni-woman-aunty-kerrie-doyle-really
My name is Robert and I'm Professor Doyle's son.

…your [Dark Emu Exposed] article shows up within the top 10 google results when you search Professor Doyle's name. This is quite unacceptable as it reflects poorly on her professional reputation. I would add that much of your information is incomplete or incorrect, but I have very little interest in correcting the information with you…

I am currently looking into legal options. I am extremely reluctant to do so, as legal pursuits are costly, time intensive and generally unpleasant to endure. However, as I have said, this article now shows up as a google result.

Please remove the article, as a show of good faith that you meant no harm and were simply using the information that had been provided by you, and we can all move on peaceably. I will check back in a week and if the article remains, I will have to engage legal services and have the website subpoenaed, and then begin seeking damages.

I respect that you have an opinion to share. I cannot abide that it damages my mother's career and consequently, my own.

Thank you in advance,

Robert Doyle

Our response to Mr Doyle, by email the next day on 27 July 2022, was as follows:

WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Hello Robert,

Thankyou for email.

Please be assured that we have no intention to defame you or your mother, Professor Doyle, by anything that may be posted on our website.

In the first instance, could you please inform us of the specific material that is of concern to you and Professor Doyle and we will review it and remove it if appropriate?

In the second instance, we would welcome any clarifications or corrections to the posted material which you may think are incorrect and we will correct as appropriate…

With regard to the blog-posts concerning Professor Doyle, we have endeavored to be as scrupulous as possible in basing these blog posts on -

a) the publicly available factual and truthful records;

b) published records of interviews given by Professor Doyle herself;

c) articles and papers published by Professor Doyle herself;

d) information provided publicly by her employers, and

e) merely statements of our honest opinions, where we believe the evidence supports these opinions.

Notwithstanding the above, we will certainly apologise to Professor Doyle for, and retract, any allegedly defamatory statement or content on our website after we investigate where appropriate, and after you alert us to it.

As you rightly observe, legal proceedings are costly and time consuming. Our experience is that the courts will take a dim view if the two parties do not try to resolve any concerns or differences sensibly prior to launching any proceedings.

Therefore, we invite you to consider and respond to our request above - that is, for you to identify and clarify the issues of concern to you and Professor Doyle and we will promptly consider your requests and take appropriate action.

I would also suggest that we perhaps should speak over the telephone so I can more fully understand your concerns and take the appropriate action? Please ring me from tomorrow onwards or send me your telephone number and I will call you if you wish to further discuss this matter.

Yours sincerely

Robert and our Editor did make telephone contact several times in the next few days. It was agreed that the posts on Kerrie Doyle would be removed while Dark Emu Exposed sought legal advice.

Interestingly, Robert Doyle did not attempt to provide any guidance as to where our blog posts were incorrect factually and/or defamatory. Mr Doyle did not submit to us any documentation or evidence that showed where our claims and opinions on his mother Kerrie Doyle were wrong.

A considered legal opinion has now been obtained by Dark Emu Exposed and we stand by the claims and opinions with regard to Kerrie and Robert Doyle that are published on our website. Accordingly, our posts on Kerrie Doyle based on demonstrable facts, the truth and/or evidence and information supplied by Kerrie and Robert Doyle themselves will recommence.

Several of our donors have also kindly pledged that funds will be available should litigation be launched against us by Robert Doyle and/or his mother.

We notice that it is not only Dark Emu Exposed that has been bullied by the threat of litigation by the Doyle family. Andrew Bolt writing in the Herald Sun of 17 July 2022 tells that,

Like Mother, Like Son

In the Summer 2021 Edition #7 of Western University of Sydney’s newsletter, The Yarning Circle , on page 8 we learn that Robert Doyle was awarded a $50,000 per year Yarramundi Indigenous scholarship to support him during his PhD studies.

To qualify for the Yarramundi Indigenous Scholarship, candidates such as Robert Doyle, must have satisfied the scholarship’s ‘Indigenous heritage proof clauses’ as follows:

We understand that Robert Doyle would have been eligible for this Indigenous scholarship given that it is reported that he claims to be a ‘Winninninni Budjeri Cadigal’ Aboriginal man.

This claimed ancestry is surprising to our genealogical research team, given what the records show regarding the ancestry of Robert’s mother, Kerry Doyle.

The evidence suggests that Kerrie Doyle was not born on an Aboriginal mission in Australia within a tribe known as the Winninninni as is claimed. Rather, the evidence suggests that she was born in Tari in Papua New Guinea and that there never was an Aboriginal tribe called the Winninninni.

We plan to post something further on this at some in due course.
